Later Life

After the March Against Fear, James continued college and later went on to other Universities, such as University of Ibadan in Nigeria and the Columbia University. After he finished his schooling he went on to be a stockbroker and joined the Republican Party. This is where he opposed Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday being made into a national holiday in America. He also attacked white liberals for being the enemy of the African Americans. In 1979 his wife Mary June Wiggins, who he met while serving the army in 1956, died leaving him to raise his 4 children, 3 boys and a girl. Only a year later he went on to marry Judy Alsobrook. 50 years after he enrolled to the University of Mississippi, he released a book called A Mission from God, A Memoir and Challenge for America.
